At Evolution Orthodontics, we offer multiple, modern braces options for our patients. Choose from traditional metal, discreet ceramic, convenient self-ligating or invisible lingual braces.
Developments in technology and design have meant conventional braces are much lighter, smaller and more comfortable to wear than they previously were. They also remain one of the most effective methods of straightening teeth.
Conventional braces can also be fun as there are coloured ties which can be used, making them popular among children and teenagers.
Metal braces are:
Ceramic braces are just like traditional metal braces, but less visible. This is because the brackets are made from clear ceramic material which allows them to blend in to your tooth colour. In some cases, tooth coloured archwires can also be used for added discretion.
Ceramic braces are slightly more expensive than traditional braces, but the strong, durable ceramic brackets are just as effective at straightening your smile.
Ceramic brackets:
Self-ligating braces look similar to conventional braces, but they work quite differently. Self-ligating brackets have a special clip that holds the archwire in place, doing away with the need for elastics. This allows the archwire to move as your teeth do.
Because your braces can adjust with the movement of your teeth, you won’t have to come in for as many adjustment appointments. It also means you will experience less friction, which makes treatment more comfortable, and can even speed up your treatment times.
At Evolution Orthodontics we use Innovation R, Clarity SL and Smartclip self-ligating braces.
Self-ligating braces have:
Invisible braces (or lingual braces) are braces placed on the back surface of your teeth. Because they are behind your teeth, they are completely hidden from view.
Lingual braces are suitable for nearly all patients and offer a truly invisible way to straighten your teeth. Andrew and Julia are both providers of invisible braces, and have been specially trained in their application.
